Dog rescued after falling into freezing waters in michigan has a happy ending

Imagine the horror. You are just traveling along minding your own business as you do every single day of your life. You happen to take a route that leads you by a lake in Michigan, and you happen to notice on the freezing cold day in which the little lake is somewhat covered in ice that a dog is struggling to swim in the icy water just after the ice on which he was standing gave way and collapsed. What would you do? Would you consider jumping in and then remember that most animal rescues of this nature end in worse disaster when brave rescuers try to do the same? Or would you call the police stick around, calling for the dog to just keep fighting that help is on the way? That&rsquo-s precisely what happened to Jennifer Pluta.

Thankfully, she made the wise decision and called the police, who arrived only moments later. The dog was safely rescued from the frigid water and treated for hypothermia. The local rescue that took the dog in waited one week to see if there was anyone coming forward to rescue this dog as their own animal, but no owners came forward. One woman, though, saw the story on the news and she felt an instant love for this dog. She is Brenda Thompson, and she came into the shelter as soon as she saw the story, and continued to come back and play with the dog every single day afterward. When no family came forward, the now recovered and happy dog was adopted by Brenda, and has a forever home of his own. We love happy endings.
