Model rescues paralyzed dog from thailand beach

Meagan Penman, a Canadian model noticed a paralyzed dog at a beach in Thailand while on vacation. She named the sick dog Leo. The pooch was in a lot of pain because of his broken back and awfully infected leg wounds. Penman posted a picture of the poor dog&rsquo-s situation on Reddit. People who saw the picture were horrified and loads of comments, both positive and negative were written. But she later explained that she was planning to bring the pooch back home to Canada with her.

Leo moves around by dragging himself using his two front feet which caused his behind to become raw. Penman even contacted a lot of rescue places in Thailand but none in the area can help extreme cases. That&rsquo-s why the 22-year-old model started her rescue mission by asking help through Gofundme, a crowdfunding website. On her page she explained how she found Leo and how much the canine needs vet care in order to survive.

A lot of people was touched by the dog&rsquo-s horrible situation and as a result help started to pour on Penman&rsquo-s Gofundme page. Her campaign successfully raised 5,000 pounds, which helped Leo to get a good medical treatment in Thailand. After that, the canine flew to Canada with Penman.

Leo now has a new and loving home. He is miraculously recovering and very happy with his new family. He also has a fitted wheelchair now that is helping him run around by himself and without hurting his back legs. The pooch really loves his new wheels and the independence it gives him.

According to the &ldquo-Help Save Leo&rdquo- Facebook page, &lsquo-Leo is currently in Sarnia, ON with his foster momma Jamie! Right now we are focusing on his recovery and settling. She is a really awesome person and I am very happy that he ended up with her.’

&lsquo-I am by no means a professional dog rescuer but I could not have left him there so I did what I could to get him home. This truly was a group effort and I really appreciate all of the support.’

This is one great rescue story that will touch any animal lover&rsquo-s heart. Personally, I am very glad that a kindhearted person found this dog and decided to do everything in her power to help the sick canine. Leo is sure a lucky dog. It would be great if this will happen every day so dogs that are in need home and help will be saved, and get a second chance to live happily.
