Petsmart announces recall of simply nourish dog treats
Many of us pet owners know and trust Petsmart stores, as they have served pet owners for quite some time now. A lot of people who own cats and dogs shop there – it&rsquo-s like a grocery store and Target for pets with all the stock in there! Much like how some of our human food items have been recalled, so do dog foods. PetSmart has made a news announcement that Loving Pets Corp has voluntarily recalled a specific portion of Simply Nourish Biscotti with Beef and Sweet Potatoes Dog Treats. The reason: potential mold growth, yikes! To be clear, no other Simply Nourish or Loving Pets treats have been affected, and the affected products have the expiration date of February 2016.
When it comes to food recalls, it can get a little bit tricky on what your next move should be. Obviously, for starters, do not allow your pet to consume and eat the tainted treat. If you have previously purchased Simply Nourish Biscotti with Beef and Sweet Potatoes Dog Treats for your pet, it has been recommended that you immediately stop use of the product. You can take it and return it to any PetSmart store and will receive a full refund for it. When requesting a refund, it is advised that you also bring along your receipt with you to the store.
If you have any individual pet health concerns, speak with your health care provider or your veterinarian. Any additional questions that are related to the recall can be directed by calling the Loving Pets Corporation at (866) 599-7387. Those who are U.S. citizens can report these complaints about FDA-regulated pet foods by contacting your local area&rsquo-s consumer complaint coordinator- you can also visit the FDA website. Those from Canada can report safety and health incidents by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
