Therapy dog comforts hospice patient while they both listen to poetry

When hospice is called into care for a sick patient, it&rsquo-s only a matter of time before that patient is going to pass away, moving onto something bigger and better – away from the pain. And dogs seem to have a very good sense of the fact that this is happening. Knowing that any moment could be your last and that your moments are very, very limited is devastating and difficult for those who will lose their lives and even more so for those left behind when this finally happens.

This woman knows that her life is close to over, but she is so happy to have her dog with her as the two listen to poetry. They are happy together- and it&rsquo-s obvious. Watching as they are so comfortable together, finding peace in one another and enjoying what they have to offer one another, these two are perfectly content. There is something to be said about dogs that are there for people when they need them most, and this dog certainly proves this is true. It might be this woman&rsquo-s final days, but that doesn&rsquo-t mean she&rsquo-s not without love as she faces the end of her life with this dog.
