Scared homeless pit bull is rescued hiding in recycling plant
When Hope for Paws received an urgent call about a pitbull from the city&rsquo-s waste management office, they quickly sprang into action. The dog, which had wondered into a recycling center, was hiding on top of a huge pile of metal and no one knew how to get him down. The team wouldn&rsquo-t be able to reach the dog, because the dangerous pile might collapse. The waste management team then came up with a solution to the problem. Using a large piece of equipment, they carefully made a path through the rubble.
The team was then able to work their way up the pile and the dog actually came out of hiding. But the dog was really scared and moved onto the other side of the pile. When one of the team members got close to the dog, the canine started to bark really loudly. Then the dog ran down the pile away from the man. Another team member was at the bottom of the pile and she worked to distract the dog, while the man made his way down. But this simply didn&rsquo-t work and the elusive pooch ran back up the pile. The team was determined to rescue the animal and did not give up.
Next, the dog ran off the pile and disappeared somewhere inside of the plant. The team had no choice but to come back the next day and try to once again locate the dog. When they arrived, the dog was back on top of the pile. When the team climbed the pile for a third time the dog ran off. This time he ran outside of the plant and into a secured area, were the team was able to corner him. It took 30 minutes for the team to work with the dog, in order for him to trust them. The dog barked very loudly at the team and they were very careful not to rush the animal. If you want to witness this very dramatic rescue, make sure to check out the video below.
