Help save a black cat who faces eviction from a home depot in south carolina

Cat eviction alert! Depot the Cat has been cosily living in a Home Depot store in Bluffton, South Carolina, for the last 13 years. Now management are kicking her out — and the sleek black beauty needs a safe adoption home.

According to local news reports, Depot is said to greet customers at the door of the store and likes to roam around in the gardening section. But Home Depot officials — presumably of the petty kind — have decided that she sets off too many nighttime alarms and so has to go.

A petition to save Depot has been set up and already amassed over 1,000 signatures. According to the campaign, Depot is “very personable to customers and staff and looks for the mice and bugs to protect the store.” It’s also said that customers are fond of bringing in treats to reward Depot for her all-around awesomeness.

While the Home Depot corporate troops are unrepentant in their decision to get rid of Depot the Cat, they have said that they will let her continue to live in the store until she finds a suitable adoption home. No idea if she comes with a 10-percent discount for the new owners, though.
