My cat turns her dreams into reality. How? A vision board!
I’m a big believer in visualization, so I have created “vision boards” for myself most of my adult life. I’ve found that when I focus my energy on something specific, I have a pretty good chance at manifesting it into my life.

Vision boards are simply collages that represent hopes, dreams, and desires we wish to see in our lives. They include photos, inspirational words, and images such as those cut out of magazines. You hang the board somewhere visible, and the goal is that the more you see these words and images, the more you think about your dreams. This keeps your goals at the top of your mind, and I believe they eventually become your reality — I’ve seen it work time and again in my own life. Two years ago I decided I wanted to write a book. I created a vision board, and my first book is scheduled for publication this September. It works, I tell you! Oprah said!
Cats are already pretty great at manifesting, but what if you handed them a pile of art supplies and magazines and asked them to create a vision board? My Phoebe is the big cheese around here, and she’d definitely be all over this project. Here’s Phoebe’s vision board, along with explanations of each major item.

Section A: Not moving

Cats enjoy sleeping in sinks, laundry baskets, chairs, and on top of our clothing. They are also used to being removed when we selfish humans need to reclaim the space or item. Phoebe envisions a world where she can sleep where she pleases and no one ever displaces her. Ever. “Need the bathroom sink? Sorry, brush your teeth in the kitchen.” “You’d like to fold laundry? Good luck with that.”
Section B: Opposable nirvana
With opposable thumbs, Phoebe wouldn’t have to rely on humans for much of anything. She’d open pantries, pop lids off food, and unzip treat bags. And that’s just the beginning. Saffy and Cosmo told her it’s impossible for an adult cat to grow opposable thumbs, but she isn’t hearing any of it. A girl can dream.
Section C: Screw the Internet

Maru who? Why dream of being an Internet sensation when you can reach for the stars and manifest a huge movie career? It could happen. Remember that cat from The Cat From Outer Space? The 1970s version with Sandy Duncan, of course. Phoebe dreams of that kind of fame. And a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Naturally.
Section D: Thinking outside the box
Phoebe can hardly restrain herself when she sees photos of sandy beaches. Why contain your business within a tiny box when you could have all the room in the world? And no more waiting for lazy humans to scoop. She could poo and pee 50 times a day and never run out of clean sand. By the way, if your cat is pooing and peeing 50 times a day, you should probably manifest some veterinary care.
Section E: Fields of green

Some humans have dreams of rolling around in a pile of money. Phoebe wishes to roll around in a giant field of catnip. You know, like the never-ending fields of tulips you see in ads for the Netherlands. Speaking of the Netherlands, she’d also like to visit the famed catnip cafes in Amsterdam.
Section F: Only child
Phoebe likes to be the center of attention and it would be so much easier if she were an only child. Saffy and Cosmo selfishly hog the humans’ attention that is rightfully hers. She would, however, like to keep three cats’ worth of food, nips, and treats. Hey, as long as she’s visualizing, might as well go big.
What would be on your cat’s vision board? Tell us about it in the comments!
